Hey Peeps! I am so excited to finally share the before and after photos from this fun reno I did with Mainstay Properties in Plant City. Here is one to wet your whistle before I really get bloggin': So, as you can see from the before picture, there was a bar height counter top, some busy-ish granite, and a darker back splash, darker/warm wall color, etc. The blending of this family (congrats on your engagement Justin and Mia!) meant a blending of styles. Enter Mia's rustic, light and bright vibe to mix with Justin's more masculine, industrial style. Before the project began:My original design board:A re-cap of the original plan:
Justin and Mia picked out a bar-style dinette set, commissioned me to refinish two buffet cabinets for the empty shiplap wall, and purchased a pewter light fixture. I suggested organic live edge wooden shelves with industrial metal brackets for above the cabinets and they ordered them. They also decided to go ahead and shiplap the living room wall behind the television, and we gave the entire kitchen/dinette/family room a light grey paint job. Here we are, working away! I was so lucky to have my little lady there to help with all of the heavy lifting, drilling, cutting, etc. You can see from the progress pictures that the second the lighter paint color went on the walls, the space looked larger. Justin and Mia felt like they were living in a hospital operating room while the project was underway, but hopefully they don't still feel that way (ha ha). I'm so excited about the way this project turned out! It was so much fun working for/with friends, closing each day with some Jameson, and watching the boys fight like prison inmates (that happened). Here are the glorious 'after' photos! Hope you all enjoyed today's blog post! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram by clicking the links below!
